Our female breaststroke specialists have kicked off the second weekend of the West Midlands Regional Championships with exceptional performances. Neave, Poppy, and Sophie all demonstrated remarkable strength and skill in their races today.

Individual Performances

Poppy competed in the 50m Breaststroke heats this morning at the Regional Long Course Championships, equaling her long course personal best. Her excellent and consistent performance demonstrates she's in peak form, looking sharp throughout—a positive sign for her upcoming races. As an experienced competitor at major events, Poppy performed brilliantly once again.

Poppy will return to competition tomorrow in the 50m Butterfly, concluding her championship campaign with the 50m Freestyle on Monday.

Neave built on her success from last week with another outstanding performance, reaching the final of the 50m Breaststroke. Starting the day ranked approximately 14th, she achieved a remarkable 1.87-second improvement on her lifetime best with a time of 36.54 seconds. Entering the final in 5th position, Neave rose to the occasion and delivered another lifetime best of 36.52 to secure an impressive 4th place overall.

These incredible performances mark significant progress in her breaststroke events and represent a breakthrough competition for Neave. She will complete her Regional Championships experience with the 50m Freestyle on Monday.

Sophie also competed in the 50m Breaststroke heats this morning. Having successfully balanced her academic studies with training in preparation for this event, her hard work was rewarded with a well-deserved place in the final. Sophie's natural competitive instinct emerged when it mattered most, as she delivered an even faster swim in the final than in the heats. Her ability to perform under pressure continues to impress and reflects her dedication and determination.

Congratulations to all our swimmers on their outstanding achievements!
